Stress and its importance.

Stress is the adaptive response of the body, mind and soul to demands and needs made on them. Any needs in our life, any short or long term plans, responsibilities or duties give us stress. Providing and protecting our family produces stresses on our physical, mental and spiritual bodies. Any change in our life (e.g., job loss, job search, marriage, divorce, new born baby, new boss, spiritual awakening,) stresses us intensely. The stress is expressly visible in your physical body as it bears the demand to act on the challenges it faces. It would also be seen in your spirit by people blessed with third eye vision. We cannot avoid stress; it is part of our life. Without stress, life would be without excitement and color. As the driving force of our life, we all need a certain amount of stress to impel creativity, innovation, change and inspiration. Stress could be considered a necessary force for mankind’s achievements.

On the other hand, stress can have a negative effect on human health when uncontrolled. It can be extremely damaging to your health when accumulated, or when several stressful events occur simultaneously or within a relatively short period of time. Too much stress will deplete your energy, making you sick.

It is worth mentioning that during times of stress, the heart rate might increase. Since the primary role of the heart is to pump the blood at a certain rate of speed the volume of blood pumped could eventually increase as well. This situation can lead to high blood pressure. And the heart rate may more than double the normal heart beat.

It should be noted that high blood pressure can damage tissues of the heart, brain, kidneys and other organs which could lead to insomnia, restless nights, strokes, kidney failure, and heart disease. Stress also attacks the immune system. Digestive problems often develop when our resistance is low.

Because stress is a necessary evil, stepping back from your daily stresses in life may bring peace of mind and restore the flow of energy in your bodies. Therefore, we must learn how to deal with stress, balancing the need to be healthy yet productive at the same time.
